A New Chapter for Emmaus Church

God is opening a new door for Emmaus Church, one that will allow us to plant deeper roots in our city and expand our impact for generations to come. For over a year, we have gathered at Greenspun Junior High School, setting up every Friday and tearing down every Sunday so that people can encounter the presence of God. Each week has been a labor of love and faith, and through it, we have seen God move in incredible ways. But we also know there is more ahead.

We believe He is leading us toward a permanent home, a place where ministry can flourish every day of the week and where countless lives will be changed by the gospel. A building is not the mission, but it is the next step that will allow the mission to grow. Imagine a space where families gather to worship, where children have safe and spacious classrooms, where students meet to grow in their faith, and where the doors stay open throughout the week for ministry, training, and community outreach. We are at a turning point as a church, and this vision of a permanent home for the ministry God has begun is now within reach.

God’s Faithfulness at Work

From the very beginning, Emmaus Church has existed to introduce people to a life changing relationship with Jesus. Over the past year, we have witnessed God’s power and faithfulness in incredible ways. What began as a vision has become a thriving community where lives are being transformed every single week.
Through your prayers, your service, and your generosity, we have seen God move mightily. Every event, every meal, and every life changed tells the story of how God is using this church to bring hope to our city.

2024 Pre Launch Outreach and Mission Impact

Before we ever held our first official service, God was already working through Emmaus Church. In 2024, we hosted a Sports Camp that reached 100 children, prayer walked and canvassed across five neighborhoods, and held an Invite Night that brought 75 people together. We followed that with a Vacation Bible School that reached 65 children and two teacher feedings at Selma Bartlett and Greenspun that served 135 educators. We also fed the Del Sol High School football team four times, serving 88 athletes in total. Our Fall Fest welcomed 100 people from the community, followed by Thanksgiving baskets that blessed four families and Angel Tree gifts that provided for seven more. In total, God allowed us to serve and reach approximately 640 people before Emmaus Church ever launched. Each face represented a conversation, a prayer, and a moment of ministry that helped plant the seeds of what our church would become.

2025 Post Launch Outreach and Mission Impact

Since launching Emmaus, God has continued to expand our reach and open new doors for ministry across Henderson and beyond. In 2025, we hosted two Sports Camps that reached a combined 175 children and families and held a Kids Camp that engaged 30 children. We continued to bless local schools through five teacher feedings across Selma Bartlett, Greenspun, and Coronado, serving 210 teachers and staff. We partnered through six Lovewell and Hub service events that together served around 300 people. We fed the Coronado High School band twice, serving 120 students, and hosted a community movie night that brought 65 people together. Our assisted living outreach served 12 residents, and a teacher goodie bag distribution blessed 75 more educators. Fall Fest 2025 reached over 2,000 people from our community, and our teams prayer walked and canvassed across six neighborhoods to share the love of Jesus. This year also included our first international mission trip to Peru, where our team served local churches, met physical needs in remote mountain communities, and saw people respond to the gospel. Together, these efforts reached over 3,000 people in 2025 alone.

Sunday Attendance and Growth

God’s faithfulness is also evident inside our church. What began in March 2024 as a small group of about sixty people gathering as a launch team quickly grew into something far greater than we could have imagined. By September 2024, our preview services were averaging 160 people each weekend, and by January 2025, that number had climbed to 180. Growth continued steadily through the spring, with weekly attendance averaging 200 by April. By September 2025, we had surpassed 230 in weekly attendance, filling every available room and watching our Preschool ministry outgrow the space we have.

In that time, we have celebrated 21 baptisms and 25 salvations, [additionally 18 salvations in Ayacucho, Peru] each one a testimony of how God is changing lives through this ministry. Every number tells a story of transformation, and each person represents someone who has found faith, community, and purpose through Jesus Christ at Emmaus Church.

A Growing Need and a Greater Vision

With all that God has done, we are now facing new challenges. Our small groups are flourishing, but we have completely run out of space to launch new ones. Our preschool and nursery area is stretched beyond capacity, and the rooms we are allowed to use simply cannot meet the needs of the families God keeps bringing to us. We do not have the space to host youth services or ministry programs throughout the week, and even leadership training opportunities are limited by the environment we are in. The current space limits our ability to create the kind of environment where a thriving youth ministry can grow. We have potential leaders ready to be trained and sent out to plant new churches, but no space to prepare them in.

Owning a facility would open countless ministry doors. It would allow us to host seminars, trainings, and ministry programs like Everyday Evangelism and Celebrate Recovery, as well as create space for discipleship training, student ministry gatherings, and leadership and church planting training. It would give our youngest families safe, welcoming, and spacious preschool and nursery areas where children can learn about Jesus from their earliest days. It would also give our growing small group ministry room to expand so that more people can build authentic community and grow in their faith together. A building of our own would not just meet a practical need, it would remove the barriers that are holding back ministry right now. It would become a permanent place of hope where anyone in our city can encounter the love of Jesus throughout the week, not just on Sundays.

A Vision for Our Future Home

We believe God is leading us toward a future home in the Green Valley area, right in the heart of the community we are called to reach. This is where families live, work, and gather, and planting roots here would allow us to serve our city with greater consistency, visibility, and long term impact.

Based on current market realities, we anticipate that a future permanent home in this area will require an investment between two point five and three million dollars. We are praying and preparing with faith that God will open the right door at the right time as we continue to follow His lead.

An Invitation to Join the Vision

We are praying and believing that God will provide the resources to make this vision a reality. Our goal is to raise $250,000 toward the purchase of this building, and we are asking you to pray about how God might lead you to be part of it.

To help make this dream possible, we have created a special giving fund on our website called Future Home. Every dollar given to this fund goes directly toward the purchase of our building and the ministries that will grow from it. You can visit emmauschurchlv.org/give as we take this step of faith together.

As you consider your year-end giving, we invite you to prayerfully consider giving a one-time gift or setting up a recurring gift. No gift is too small. Every act of generosity helps us take another step toward planting permanent roots in this community and expanding the mission of Jesus for generations to come.

Thank you for being part of what God is doing through Emmaus Church. Together, we are not just building a building. We are expanding the Kingdom of God.
