Enoch Walked With God

This week, we looked at a man who isn’t mentioned often in Scripture—but whose legacy is unforgettable. Enoch didn’t lead armies, write books, or build an ark. He simply walked with God. And because of his faith, God took him—he didn’t even experience death.
Imagine being so close to God that heaven is the next natural step. That was Enoch’s story.
Faith That Walks

Hebrews 11 tells us that “without faith it is impossible to please God”—and Enoch pleased God by believing Him, seeking Him, and walking with Him. He wasn’t perfect, but he lived in daily dependence on the One who is. Enoch’s story reminds us that true faith isn’t flashy
—it’s consistent. It’s not about being recognized by the world, but being known by God.
From the Garden to the Grave

After Adam and Eve sinned, mankind began a long tradition of running from God in shame. But Enoch’s life was different. He broke that pattern—not because he was strong, but because God made a way back. Enoch reminds us that walking with God is possible again—not because of our goodness, but because of God’s grace.

Faith in the Valleys

We also heard the story of a friend who, after losing a child, continued to serve and worship God through grief. That’s faith in action. That’s walking with God—especially when life hurts. Like Enoch, faith means drawing near to God no matter the circumstance and trusting Him through the storms.

What Can We Learn from Enoch?

  • Faith is a daily walk, not a one-time decision.
  • Walking with God means staying close in the valleys, not just on the mountaintops.
  • We grow in faith when we walk in obedience.
  • God invites us into His presence every single day.

Challenge: This summer, let’s be people who walk with God—not just on Sundays, but in every moment. When adversity hits, don’t run from God. Run to Him. Because walking with Him, like Enoch, is the only path to life that never ends.
