By Faith Sarah Trusted

This week, we looked at the story of Sarah—a woman who waited, doubted, laughed, and still received what God had promised. Her journey reminds us that faith doesn’t mean perfection. It means perseverance.

Hebrews 11 tells us that “by faith Sarah herself received power to conceive, even when she was past the age, since she considered him faithful who had promised.” (Heb. 11:11) Sarah’s life was filled with adversity—infertility, displacement, disappointment, and family dysfunction—but God was faithful, and her story shows us that waiting doesn’t mean wasting.

Waiting is hard. It tests our faith, reveals our fears, and sometimes leads us to places of deep questioning. But just like Sarah, we are invited to trust God in the waiting. And not just trust—but worship.

Sarah’s story (Genesis 11–21) is full of unexpected turns:
  • She faced infertility for decades.
  • She was displaced from her homeland.
  • She endured relational betrayal and painful choices.
  • She doubted God’s promise—and yet, God fulfilled it.

What changed? Sarah didn’t suddenly become stronger—she simply began to believe that the God who made the promise was faithful.

"She considered him faithful who had promised.” —Hebrews 11:11

Key Truths We Learned:
  • Faith often grows in seasons of waiting. Like Sarah, we might laugh at the idea that God could still show up—but He does. Always in His time.
  • Adversity doesn’t disqualify you—it prepares you. Sarah’s story reminds us that God isn’t looking for flawless faith, just willing hearts.
  • Worship is the posture of trust. While we wait on the promise, we worship the One who made it.

Challenge Question:

What are you waiting on God for?

And while you wait—will you worship?
