Seen, Strong, and Sent
Mother’s Day can bring a lot of different emotions into the same room. For some, it is filled with joy and celebration. For others, it carries grief, loss, longing, or exhaustion. And for many people, it is a mixture of all of those things at once.
But in every story, there is one truth that remains constant:
God sees you.
God strengthens you.
And God wants to use your life for His purposes.
This message is not only for mothers. It is for anyone who has ever felt overlooked, worn down, or unsure if their life is making a difference.
Seen by God
One of the most powerful moments in Scripture comes from the story of Hagar in Genesis 16. Hagar was not someone people would have expected to be highlighted in a message like this. Her story was painful. She had been mistreated, pushed aside, and left in the wilderness with her child.
And yet, in the middle of her desperation, God met her there.
Hagar called God “El Roi,” meaning “the God who sees me.”
That matters because so much of life can feel invisible.
The sacrifices nobody notices.
The prayers nobody hears.
The long nights.
The emotional weight.
The constant pouring out for others.
There are moments where people quietly wonder:
“Does this matter?”
“Does anybody see what I’m carrying?”
The answer from Scripture is yes. God sees every unseen act of faithfulness.
He sees the patience when you are tired.
He sees the love you keep giving when you feel empty yourself.
He sees the quiet obedience that no one applauds.
Nothing is wasted in the hands of God.
Strengthened by God
Not only does God see His people, He strengthens them.
Isaiah 40 paints a beautiful picture of the heart of God:
“He will tend his flock like a shepherd… he will carry them… and gently lead those that are with young.”
God is not distant. He is present. He carries. He leads. He strengthens.
Sometimes people read Proverbs 31 and feel overwhelmed by it. The woman described there seems to do everything perfectly. Strong. Wise. Productive. Disciplined.
But Proverbs 31 is not ultimately about perfection. It is about a life formed through walking with God.
“Strength and dignity are her clothing.”
That strength was not created overnight. It was developed through dependence on God over time.
Real life stretches people to their limits. There are seasons where you do not have the energy, patience, wisdom, or answers. And often, those are the exact places where God begins doing His deepest work.
God never asked people to carry life in their own strength alone.
Instead, He invites people to lean on Him. And when they do, He provides what they need in the moment:
Strength when they are tired.
Wisdom when they are uncertain.
Peace when life feels overwhelming.
Feeling stretched does not always mean failure. Sometimes it means God is forming something deeper.
Used by God
One of the most encouraging truths in Scripture is that God often works through ordinary moments.
In 2 Timothy 1:5, Paul reminds Timothy about the faith that first lived in his grandmother Lois and his mother Eunice before it was seen in him.
Timothy became a leader in the early church, but his faith did not begin on a platform. It began at home through the faithful influence of people who consistently pointed him toward God.
That is a powerful reminder:
You do not have to be visible to be impactful.
Some of the greatest spiritual influence happens in everyday moments:
At the dinner table.
In car rides.
During bedtime prayers.
Through honest conversations.
The world often celebrates what is public and impressive. But God frequently works through what seems small and unseen.
Faithfulness matters more than visibility.
Seeds are planted in ordinary moments.
Faith is built slowly over time.
Lives are shaped through consistency.
Even when people cannot yet see the fruit, God is still working.
Final Encouragement
No matter what season you are walking through today, remember this truth:
You are seen by God.
You are being strengthened by God.
And you are being used by God.
Even when life feels unnoticed.
Even when you are exhausted.
Even when the work feels small.
God has not missed a single moment of your faithfulness.
